Theokalus is a Partner at CM Advocates Nigeria and heads the Corporate/Commercial Practice of the Firm.
He focuses on corporate and commercial law, banking and finance, international trade and investments, capital markets and real estates. He also provides corporate governance and data protection/privacy advice to clients. He is passionate about business strategy and assisting companies to navigate the regulatory terrain of emerging markets.
Theokalus has a wealth of corporate and commercial knowledge and experience in regulatory financial services and related industries and has participated in ground-breaking domestic and cross -border transactions including the mergers and acquisitions between the biggest FMCG industry players in Africa.
Theokalus holds a Bachelor of Laws degree with honors from the University of Benin, Nigeria. He attended the Nigerian Law School and was admitted to the Nigerian Bar in 2011. He was awarded the Sir Darnley Alexander and Sir Lionel Brett Prizes in Property and Criminal Litigation respectively at the Nigerian Law School.
Prior to being Partner, Theokalus was engaged as an Associate at ǼLEX, and as Legal Officer at Access Bank Plc. Subsequently, he was appointed Legal Officer and Data Privacy Officer (in-Country and the Rest of Africa) at Rand Merchant Bank Nigeria, and RMB Nigeria Stockbroking Limited respectively; both members of the FirstRand Group.
